ELA News
The students are currently studying inferencing in Reading. Students have been learning and practicing the following thinking stems in class:
-My text says...
-I know that...
-I can infer that...
For those of you who would like to help your child with inferencing at home, you can find the STAAR questions on the last page, Figure 19(D). Please use the ones on the front side that are for LITERARY text only.
Tardies
Please remember that the official school hours are 7:50-3:00. We expect the students to be in the classrooms, with their backpacks unpacked, at 7:50. This ensures a smooth start to the day and helps us start our class morning meetings on time. Students who arrive after this time are often rushed, miss out on uniting with the class, and have a more stressful start to the school day.
Early Release Day Coming Up
Our first early release day is next week on Wednesday, November 12th. Students will be dismissed at 12:45 instead of at 3:00. If your child is a car rider or a walker, please ensure that an adult is ready for the children at this earlier time!
Grandparent's Day
Creek View's annual Grandparents' Day Lunch will be on Tuesday, November 25th. We always get asked if only grandparents can come. The answer is a resounding NO! :) Feel free to invite any family members to join your student that day for lunch! The cafeteria will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving feast (turkey, gravy, dressing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes), or you can bring lunch with you to enjoy with your student.
Upcoming Events
-Friday, November 7th: End of 2nd six weeks
-Monday, November 10th: Begin 3rd six weeks
