Boosterthon Continues!
The second week of Boosterthon kicks off on Monday! The theme this year is Rock'N Town Live! In addition to raising funds for our school, the Boosterthon program teaches character lessons through fun and engaging videos and promotes fitness with the fun run. So far, the students have learned about "Plugging in to Serve" (helping and serving others), "Amplify Others" (giving compliments), and "Listen to Feedback" (list to others' constructive criticism to make a better you). You can watch all of the videos for Boosterthon at home by logging in to your child's funrun.com page, clicking "View Participant's Dashboard," and choosing "Today's Video." All of the videos for the program will be along the bottom!
Boosterthon concludes this Friday with our fun run! We're planning on running on the Boosterthon course outside (weather permitting) at 9:30 am. If weather forces the plans to change, we will be running on the Boosterthon course in the gym during our CAMP time (12:40-1:40).
Field Trip!
Parents, you have done an amazing job of getting the field trip permission slips and money back to school so quickly! We had planned to send them home in Monday Folders last week, but the copies weren't ready at the end of the day. Sending them home on Tuesday and getting them back on Wednesday was a very fast turn-around, and almost every student in our classes did it!
If you have not returned your child's permission slip and money ($2) yet, please do so as soon as possible!
Library This Week
Students will go to the library on Tuesday during reading class with Mrs. McEwen. Please help your child remember his/her library books! (Library books should come to school every day...not just on library days!)
Report Cards
Report cards for the 1st six weeks grading period will be sent home with students on Wednesday. Please sign the yellow copy and return to school in the report card envelope. The blue copy is yours to keep. We can discuss your child's grades during parent conferences next week.
Parent Conferences/Student Holiday
Monday, October 13th is designated by the district as a day for parents and teachers to conference together. We have scheduled conferences to start every 15 minutes, and with two classes to cover, we have a very tight schedule. Please arrive on time for your scheduled conference so that we may be respectful of everyone's time. If one conference starts late, all the other conferences scheduled afterwards start late! Students will bring home a note reminding you of your scheduled conference time this week. If you have not yet scheduled a conference, please contact us so we can get one scheduled!
Reminder...students do not have school this day!
Homework Heroes
The first Homework Heroes of the 1st six weeks is this Friday. HW Heroes is a way to reward students who have completed the homework assignments all six weeks. Students are allowed one or two "oops" per class. If a student does not have his/her homework more than this, he/she may not participate in HW Heroes. Non-participating students will work on unfinished work or read quietly during HW Heroes time.
